Terrigal is like that but it's up on the Central Coast. It's only 15 mins away for me but it might be a bit further for others.

Hey, Manly was nice and calm this weekend but it starting to build again.
Most of the harbour beaches are well protected from the sea swell. I've heard good things about Forty Baskets Beach in Balgowlah, Nielson Park near Watsons Bay and Little Manly Beach and Collins Beach are gorgeous.
